How this compares to the CRA's PDOC
This calculator is built from the CRA's published payroll formulas (T4127) for 2026.
It uses the same brackets, credits, CPP, CPP2 and EI rules as the CRA's own
Payroll Deductions Online Calculator.
It assumes a full year at this pay rate and the basic TD1 claim only, so a real pay
cheque will differ if you have extra credits, a mid-year raise, or amounts already
deducted earlier in the year. Three provinces changed their rates mid-2026, so for
British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island the CRA uses
prorated rates for the rest of this year while the figures here are the full-year
ones. For the exact amount to remit, use PDOC.
Estimate Only. This calculator uses the CRA payroll formulas (T4127) for 2026, at the full-year rates, and provides a general estimate of the employee side only. Employer CPP and EI are on top of gross pay and are not shown. CPP2 is included once the CPP1 maximum has been reached, which you set with the CPP1 Max Already Reached option above. It does not account for additional TD1 credits beyond the basic claim, employer benefit deductions, QPIP premiums (Quebec), dependant amounts on Form TD1ON, union dues, pension adjustments, the prescribed northern zone deduction, or other personal tax situations. Bonuses and retroactive pay use a different CRA method and should not be run through this. For precise payroll calculations, consult a payroll professional or use the CRA Payroll Deductions Online Calculator (PDOC).
